i hadn't checked my email for awhile... yeah, it was a busy week. This is my "junk" email account, an old email address that I use for when I have to sign up for pages, like facebook and twitter. I'm scrolling through the endless offers for Mortgage refinancing, Enchancement Pills, and Free Offers for stuff I don't want when a title grabbed my eye, "LEGAL NOTICE OF SETTLEMENT OF CLASS ACTION."

Huh?

And when I opened the email, here's what I read:

I'm involved in a Class Action Lawsuit Against facebook? WHAT?!?!

It turns out that when facebook decided to use members' pictures in ads without their permission, facebook was in the wrong. To avoid having to take the case to court, Facebook offered $20 million and the court approved the settlement. Users have been getting an email from “legalnotice@facebookmail.com” informing them of the lawsuit.

What do you get if you're involved in the lawsuit: maybe ten bucks. That's what happens when 150 million users claim their cut, but it’s better than nothing.
